Dr Virendra Rajpurohit is a practicing Cancer Surgeon trained at the esteemed Asian Institute of Oncology under the stalwarts of Surgical Oncology. He has experience of 8 years of practicing Surgical Oncology and its subspecialties. He has acquired special training and expertise in Thoracic Oncology. He is the recipient of the prestigious Varoon Mahajan Fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York in 2007 where he worked on a review of multimodality treatment of Esophageal and Lung Cancers. He has recently visited the Department of Esophageal Diseases at Kurume University Hospital, Japan for 3 months and trained with some of the leading esophageal surgeons in the world, including Prof H Fujita. He also learnt thoracoscopic esophagectomy from the pioneers like Prof H Osugi in Osaka, Japan. His areas of interest are multidisciplinary. He has performed innumerable number of complex Gastrointestinal cancer surgeries, Head and Neck cancer surgeries and reconstructions, Gynaecological cancer surgeries, Urological cancer surgeries, Breast cancer surgery with special interest in Breast conservation therapy & Sentinel nodal mapping and Endocrine cancer surgeries. He is also involved in Cancer screening, Counseling and Palliative care. He is also a permanent Faculty at the Ethicon Institute of Surgical Education.
