Query: Need advice for polyp in colon. What treatment should we take?
I had been operated for Adenocarcinoma descending colon in 2008, colonoscopy was done regularly upto 2013, no complaints; on 20th sept.2020 had p/r beeding; colonoscopy revealed polyp size 2× 2 cms at caecum.. what should I do!


Reply:

Assuming that you are otherwise healthy, have no other liver/ heart or renal illness and no other cause for the rectal bleeding was found; I would suggest that the cecal polyp (2x2cm) should be removed endoscopically and be subject to histological examination.

Depending on the histopathological findings further action would need to be decided.
