He has completed his basic and advanced courses in Laparoscopic Surgery from GEM Institute, Coimbatore. He was awarded the fellowship in laparoscopic surgery by the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India. His area of expertise extends from Trauma, Emergency surgery, Hernia surgery, Colo- Proctology, Onco-surgery, Minimal Access (Laparoscopic) and Bariatric Surgery.

He has done his fellowship in minimal access surgery (FMAS) which was conferred by the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India. Dr. Joshi has completed his basic and advanced course in Laparoscopic Surgery from GEM Institute, Coimbatore under the tutelage of the renowned laparoscopic surgeon Prof. Palanivelu. He is a trained trauma surgeon from the Tan Tok Seng Hospital, Singapore. He is ATLS certified.

He has worked extensively in trauma, emergency surgery, colo- proctology, onco-surgery and hernia surgery. His area of interest is Minimal Access and bariatric surgery. He has been exposed to ICU care as an intensivist. Prior to joining Fortis Hospital, Mohali, he worked at the Post Graduate Institute (PGI), Chandigarh, Government Medical College, Chandigarh and Government Medical College, Patiala.

He is an acclaimed surgeon who is skilled to perform all advanced laparoscopic procedures in addition to all complex open surgical procedures. He was the first to perform the Laparoscopic diaphragmatic hernia repair in the tricity and has thousands of laparoscopic procedures to his credit. He is an accomplished gastrointestinal and oncology surgeon with areas of expertise ranging from Minimal access & Bariatric, Hernia surgery and colo- proctology. In onco surgery, breast and endocrine surgery are his forte.
