Immanuel Paul Vinod is currently the Manager in the Rehabilitation Department of Columbia Asia Referral Hospital, Yeshwanthapur, Bangalore, where he is specially manning the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, spinal cord injury/stroke rehabilitation, and ergonomics.  After his basic graduation, namely, BPT (Bachelor in Physiotherapy), in 2001, from the prestigious KMCH College of Physiotherapy affiliated to Dr. MGR Medical University, he went on to pursue his post-graduation, MPT (Masters in Physiotherapy), which he completed in 2008 from the KG College of Physiotherapy. His impressive academic record shows that he obtained his postgraduate Diploma in Fitness (PGDF), in 2008, from the Ramakrishna University and his postgraduate Diploma in Hospital and Health Management (PGDHHM), in 2011, from the esteemed Indira Gandhi National Open University. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Science at the Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirapalli. His has more than 10 years’ experience in the field of physiotherapy and is now keenly interested in cardiac and neuro rehabilitation work and in the science of ergonomics. His work in cardiac rehab not only involves optimizing the physical function in patients with cardiac disease but also in delivering preventive cardiac care in comprehensive prevention centers.  For the neuro rehab, he has designed a program, which deals with trauma (brain injury, spinal cord injury, etc.), vascular disorders (strokes, TIAs, etc.), infections of the brain (meningitis, encephalitis, polio, brain abscess, etc.), functional disorders (headache, dizziness, seizures, etc.), neuromuscular disorders (myasthenia gravis, neuropathies, GB syndrome, etc.), and degenerative disorders (Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, etc.) and provides all round neuro care for the well-being of the patient. He is also keen in delivering ergonomics for the working class to reduce stress and injuries associated with bad postures, repeated tasks, and overuse of their muscles. He has to his credit a number of national and international publications and has been part and parcel of many workshops in India.
