Procedure : ARTHROSCOPY
ABOUT ARTHROSCOPY:
This is a procedure done to diagnose and treat problems inside a joint. Done under local, regional or general anaesthesia, a narrow tube containing a fibre optic camera is inserted into the joint space through a small incision. The view is transmitted to a monitor allowing the surgeon to have a detailed image of the area. If indicated, corrective surgery can be performed by instruments passed through additional incisions. It usually takes 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the type of procedure being done. This is performed by an Orthopaedician.
