Procedure : LITHOTRIPSY
ABOUT LITHOTRIPSY:
This is a non-invasive procedure to treat stones in the urinary system. Shock waves are given through a Lithotripsy machine to break the stone into smaller pieces which then pass out through urine. It is commonly used for stones less than 1.5cm in size. The procedure may have to be carried out multiple times depending on the size, type and location of the stone. It is performed by a Nephrology or Urology specialist.
