Procedure : CHOLECYSTECTOMY LAPAROSCOPIC
ABOUT CHOLECYSTECTOMY LAPAROSCOPIC:
This is a surgical procedure done to remove the gall bladder. Gall bladder is a pear shaped organ situated near liver which stores bile. The most common reasons for its removal are gall bladder stones (Cholelithiasis), Bile duct stones (Choledocholithiasis) and infection (Cholecystitis). Procedure is carried out using a Laparoscope. Recovery is faster as compared to the open route but may not be suitable for all patients. It is done under general anaesthesia. This procedure is done by a General Surgeon or Laparoscopic surgeon or Gastroenterology surgeon.
