ABOUT THE DISEASE
An anal fissure is a tear in the lining of the anus (mucosa) or anal canal.
SYMPTOMS
CAUSES
- Passing large, hard stools- Frequent diarrhea- Constipation- Inflammatory bowel disease such as crohn`s disease or ulcerative colitis- Infections- Anal sex
DIAGNOSIS
- Rectal examination
TREATMENT METHODS
- Take a more fibrous diet / fiber supplements, to soften the stool, making bowel movements easier.
- Sitz bath is recommended to help heal the tear, two to three times a day.
- Fissure Surgery (Fissurectomy)
