Dr.Nagendra Swamy appointed group medical director of Manipal Hospitals
Bengaluru: Manipal Hospitals has appointed Nagendra Swamy, currently president of Manipal Health Enterprises and chairman of the quality council at Manipal University, as group medical director of Manipal Hospitals.
In his new role, Swamy will represent the interests of clinicians and clinical activities of the organization, the hospital said in a statement. Swamy will also continue to be chairman of the quality council, the medical advisory board, management of teaching hospitals and nursing operations under the hospital, said the statement.
Swamy, a Manipal University alumni, is a member India’s Accreditation Board for Healthcare Sector Skill Council.
“Dr. Swamy’s contribution has been immense and highly laudable for significantly enhancing the quality standards (“18C”) across network of Manipal Hospitals. Apart from the quality initiatives, Dr. Swamy has successfully front ended the entire AAHRPP accreditation process for medical research,” said the statement.
AAHRP, short for Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, is a global accreditation body working for ethical standards in clinical research.
