Dr. Prashant Vaijyanath is a Gold Medalist from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGI, Chandigarh) for his MS (Surgery) in 1993 and M.Ch. CTVS with honours from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.

During this period, he mastered the art and technique of Cardiothoracic Surgery and became proficient in academic surgery, also acquired significant leadership skills. He realised the importance of teamwork and the secret of leading a large team.
EXPERIENCE
Before joining Kovai Medical Center and Hospital, he worked as faculty in AIIMS for 10 years and Senior Consultant & Director of Academic Program at Dr K M Cherian Heart Foundation, Chennai. He subsequently served at the Asian Heart Institute, Mumbai for five years.
Dr.Prashant has completed his fellowships in many foreign countries with good track record.

Dr. Prashant has a total of 20 years rich experience in cardiac surgery (1993-2013) and has successfully performed more than 7000 open heart surgeries.
We glad to inform you that Dr Prashant has held several honorary appointments. He was Hon. Professor at the Heart Institute (INCOR) & Zerbini Foundation Sao Paulo Brazil - One of the most important and pioneering center in the world with experience of 1.5 lac open heart surgeries since 1958.
He was Hon Consultant at Al-Bassel Heart Institute, Damascus, Syria and was a visiting consultant at the Penang University Hospital, Penang, Malaysia. He was also Hon. Consultant, University of Ecuador, Hospital Carlos Andrade Mann, Quito, Ecuador.
Dr. Prashant was a visiting faculty at the Razavi Hospital, Masshad, Iran. He was also member of a good number of learned societies. In July 2004, Dr. Prashant was appointed as the youngest examiner for Diplomate National Board of Examination (New Delhi) in CTVS by National Board of Examination, India. He was also NBE Assessor & Inspector for recognition of DNBE CTVS program in India.
He is the Fellow of International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery and American College of Surgeon.
