Dr. Balamurali Krishnan is a well established Consultant Orthopaedic and Joint Replacement Surgeon at Columbia Asia Hospital in Whitefield. A highly qualified doctor, he completed his MBBS from Government Medical College, Bellary in 1991, and further gained specialization in Orthopaedics by acquiring Diploma from Karnataka Medical College, Karnataka in 1996. To further enhance his knowledge and skill set he then went to United Kingdom and pursued M.R.C.S. from Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2003, and MCh (Orth) from University of Dundee in 2008. He also owns Fellowship in Joint Replacement Surgery from St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, and Fellowship in Lower Limb Arthroplasty from University of Dundee. He has won the prestigious ‘Ian Smillie award’ of distinction as the topper of the batch for MCh (orth). He has won several other academic awards like Distinction in Pharmacology, which signifies his sound knowledge. Dr. Balamurali is an expert in young adult hip and knee arthroplasty, and in his career of over 26 years he has worked at several renowned hospitals not only in India but also in United Kingdom. Apart from attaining extensive clinical experience he has also gained administrative experience and exemplified strong leadership skills. He believes in sharing the knowledge he has acquired and has imparted the same through his teaching appointments. He has authored several presentations and projects which have been presented at well known conferences and he has also been honored with invitations to deliver lectures at various events.
