He is one of the young nephrologists of Mumbai working in field since early 2000s with a varried experience of working in both Government (Medical College) and big corporate hospitals, both in India and abroad. After completing Masters degree in Medicine in 1999, he finished his sub-specialty in Nephrology from Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi in 2005 under the guidance of Professor Dr Vijay Kher, one of the eminent nephrologist of national and international repute. He was awarded the ‘Best Performer’ of Apollo Hospital for the year 2004. He subsequently joined as Assistant Professor in Nephrology at the prestigious B.Y.L Nair charitable hospital and T.N Medical college, Mumbai where he taught under graduates, post graduates and D.N.B trainees for about three years besides pursuing his clinical research. He has done fellowship on adult nephrology and renal transplantation from Toronto, Canada during 2009-10. During his tenure at Canada he worked with few of the world renowned faculties in nephrology in three major hospitals under the University of Toronto. He gained extensive knowledge on Kidney transplantation, Acid Base and electrolyte disorders and glomerular diseases. During his stay at Toronto he was actively involved in the management of referred complicated hypertension cases and in the process learnt the art of interpretation of results of Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM). The interest and experience he developed in hypertension management enabled him to clear the hypertension specialist certification examination conducted by the American Society of Hypertension, USA . After coming back to India he worked with different corporate hospitals across the country before finally joining at JASLOK Hospital as Consultant Nephrology and member of D.N.B. faculty. Given his academic interest, he has published several papers in journals and has presented papers in Conferences during this stint. His areas of interest includes Highly sensitized kidney transplantation, Acid , Base and Electrolyte disorders, Identification of causes for recurrent stone formers, Nephrolithiasis , their prevention and management, Managing difficult to treat Hypertension and measures to reduce the target organ damage, Impact of Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) on Hypertensive individuals, Management of Primary and secondary Glomerular diseases and early intervention.
