ABOUT ACROMIOPLASTY:
It is a surgical reconstruction of the tip of shoulder joint and musculature . It may be advised in case of rotator cuff injury/tendonitis/bursitis/impingement syndrome. It may be done using Arthroscopic surgery or open surgery.It may involve smoothening or removing small parts of growth/bone from shoulder blade (acromion) or acromioclavicular joint. It is advised only if injury is very severe or the non-surgical treatment has not brought desired improvement in shoulder strength and movement. This procedure is performed by an Orthopedic surgeon.
