Type of surgery depends on the extent of damage and the type of activity that the patient is likely to involve in post-surgery. After surgery, the arm is kept in a sling for four to six weeks. Extensive rehabilitation/physiotherapy follows and is necessary for healing. Surgery can be in form of - Bankart lesion repair, SLAP lesion repair, Anterior Capsular shift,Rotator Interval Closure, etc. The surgery is done by an Orthopaedician.
