Procedure : RCT (ROOT CANAL TREATMENT)
ABOUT RCT (ROOT CANAL TREATMENT):
A badly damaged or infected tooth can be saved from further decay through root canal treatment. It helps to retain original tooth which might otherwise need extraction. It may be advised in cases of tooth decay, cavity, trauma, severe infection, etc. Under local anaesthesia, an opening is made through the crown portion to enter the pulp area. It is thoroughly cleaned and the root canal is filled and sealed. A cap or crown (made of metal, acrylic, porcelain or combination) is then applied over it. It generally takes 1-3 visits for a single RCT. It can then be used as a normal tooth. It is done by a Dentist or Endodontist.
