ABOUT THE DISEASE
Phimosis is a condition in which there is inability to retract the skin (foreskin or prepuce) covering the head (glans) of the penis. Phimosis may appear as a tight ring or “rubber band” of foreskin around the tip of the penis. This condition is common in young boys (up to 4 years old), but may occur at any age. As long as the child can pass urine, no treatment is needed immediately. This condition should improve by itself as the kid gets older. If not, then it might lead difficulty in urination and infection. It may also result due to infection or injury, or occur from poor cleaning under the foreskin (pathologic phimosis).

TREATMENT METHODS
Treatment varies depending on the age of the child and severity of phimosis. It may include: gentle daily manual retraction, topical corticosteroid ointment application or surgical treatment i.e circumcision.
