ABOUT ICSI (INTRACYTOPLASMIC SPERM INJECTION):
This is an in vitro fertilization procedure where a single sperm is injected into an egg. It is advised to overcome fertility issues related to males as low sperm count, low sperm motility, abnormally shaped sperms, etc. Once the sperms are collected, the IVF procedure as in any other case is followed. The only difference is that here the embryologist using a microscope and a tiny needle, injects each retrieved egg with a sperm. The procedure would be carried out by a Gynaecologist or a Surgeon or Embryologist specializing in assisted reproductive techniques.
