Hi I am RA patient since 20 yrs n at present taking pregnisolone 5mg,methotraxate 15mg per week, folic acid,symbal 20mg,telvas 20mg,hyphenec MR. I was at 2.5 mg predmet on alternate day but when disease aggrevates, dr increases my dose. she is mbbs. i m frm anand.i think my angles n deformities increased. i m a computer teacher. I want to know how can i decrease my dose again slowly?How can i monitor n take precautions? my weight has been increased.. my friends jiju Dr sharma frm delhi appolo gave me ur reference. how can i contact u?

My father is suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis for the past 6 years. 2 years back he had undergone bypass surgery and from then he has discontinued medication for Arthritis. At present, the diseases is increasing at a very rapid pace. His right knee is swelled up and the joint bones are almost touching each other due to which he is has lot of pain and his locomotion is almost at halt. Recently we have showed him to allopathic doctor, homeopathic doctor and ayurvedic doctor, but each time he discontinues the medicine saying that they are troubling him more and the pain is ever increasing. He has never continued his medicines more than a month. Please suggest me what we should do, as he health is become worse. Help needed please !!!

My mother has been suffering from arthritis for the past fifteen years. She has been diagnosed to be suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis. Initial treatment had been begun with allopathic medicines but she could not tolerate the side effects. Over the years the various branches of treatment such as homeopathy, biochemic, ayurvedic have been tried each initially effective but not helping much in the years that followed. She now also suffers from diabetes and High Blood Pressure. Presently treatment includes the medicines.....Folitrax, Folvite, HCQS and Dexorange. Presently due to low platelet count Folitrax and Folvite have been discontinued for three months. As of now this is the medical history. Seeking further medical help.

After knee replacement, open synovectomy has been advised. pl give details
I am suffering from RA for 11 years. I had undergone a bilateral knee replacement at Max Hospital Saket New Delhi on 15/05/12. The surgery was done by Dr S K S Marya. All was going well but in August, my left knee was swollen up. Inflammation was suspected due to RA fopr which I was given extensive RA medication for 3 months but no effect wad found. Finally, Dr Marya told me to undergo open Synovectomy (Arthotomy) in my left knee, with 3 days hospital stay. I have full faith in Dr Maryas judgement & believe that what he is doing is for my good. But I would like to have some more information regarding this procedure. Please provide me information regarding recovery time from this procedure, precautions to be taken, chances of re-occurrence of this problem & how much time would it take for me to return to my normal working life.

I had Rheumatoid Arthritis problem six yrs back and i tested positive in the blood test.I took siddha treatment from a doctor near kumbakonam and got cured. Now again i am having the trouble for the lasst 20 days. My blood samples show a R,A factor of 63 whereas the permissible limit is 15.Now can you suggest a solution. I am afraid to go back to Siddha as one neuro surgeon told me that siddha treatment is responsible for my nerve conduction problem in my feet.My feet are very sensitive and sometimes they sleep off.

After undergoing both knee replacement due to RA, 6 month back, am still not fit. What to do?
I had undergone both knee replacement surgery on 15/05/12 due to my suffering from RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis) for last 10 years which had severely affected both my knees. The surgery was done by Dr S K S Marya at Max Hospital, Saket, New Delhi. My recovery and physiotherapy was going well, with my left knee performing better then the right knee. Unfortunately, my left knee got swollen up on 01/08/12 with local temperature of knee being hot and reddishness of skin. I went to see Dr Marya & he told me that it is not infection but inflammation probably due to my RA. I was told to take complete rest, stop physiotherapy and was prescribed antibiotics Amicacin (injectible) for 1 week and Linid 600 for 2 weeks. For my RA, I am under treatment of Rheumatologist Dr P D Rath of Max Hospital for 2 months now since 03/09/12. He has prescribed me following medicines: • 15 mg Metho-Trexate once a week • 3 times a week 5 mg Folvite • 2 times daily dose of HCQS 200 • 2 times daily dose of Sazo 1000 • 1 time daily dose of Supracal 1000 • 1 time daily dose of Defcort 6 • 1 time daily dose of Ocid 20 • 1 time daily dose of Nucoxia 90, which after 1 month Dr Rath changed to Zycel 200 2 times a day. On 03/09/12, Dr Marya told me that everything is ok from his side and I don’t have to see him for 1 year and I only have to consult now Dr P D Rath. Currently swelling is there with pain and stiffness in left knee. In my blood test report, my ESR is 60, RA Factor 22 & CRP 19.5. I can walk properly now but I am having difficulty in bending left knee and also having weakness in it with pain from knee to ankle. Please suggest what I should do as almost 6 months have passed since my surgery and I am still not fully fit.
